5 December 2023 Shrewsbury

Walk into Southport this morning for a coffee before we leave for Shrewsbury.

Called in to Wrexham to fill our LPG tanks and fuel up then on to Shrewsbury.

We arrived about 1400 lunch then into town to look at the lights.

A couple of walks in the rain into town for coffee and some shopping we love the decorations.

3 December 2023 Southport

The start of our trip this year , our 16 year of non stop travel in Europe. A cold hard 3 hour drive in poor conditions as most of the Lake District roads had been closed the previous day. On arrival to the site they were cutting the grass ????

First site of this trip Southport arriving just in time to see the charity truck parade in the town FAB.

On the way into town we stopped to watch the ice skating on the rink in the park

9 – 16 October 2023 Keswick

Usual walkabouts and lots off sight seeing  Penrith, Ambleside Grassmere and lots of fun and a first cycle on Maureen’s new bike.

8 October 2023 Donkey Creek

Wondered why Wallace and Gromit here in Preston? It’s where Nick Parks grew up.

Drove up to Blackpool has not changed over the years had a good walkabout then back to the site.

You could spend a day just reading the promenade here.

Coffee in Costa.

6 – 7 October 2023 Donkey Creek

Into Southport for a walkabout and coffee our friends leave today. Drive up to Freckelton near Preston. On arrival we were welcomed with fighter planes taking off and landing 500 yards away from the campsite FAB.

Next morning bus into Preston a short journey a first for us both never been here before. The biggest bus station ever below.

In the afternoon a walk down the side of the airfield.

Lots of Phone boxes but no phones in them?

3 – 5 October 2023 Southport

Coffee before leaving Chirk then some shopping arriving about 1310.

Met up with friends and walked into town.

Next day into town for walkabouts and coffee and we saw a bike that Maureen and I liked so we bought it.

Next day walkabouts in the morning then rain UGH!

2 October 2023 Chirk

Coffee in the Knitting cafe then a walk down to the viaduct so that Darian could go back into England for a while.

Wet morning and only a 30 mins. drive so left the site late called for some petrol but could not find a parking space for shopping or coffee and it took us 30 mins to get back out of the car park WHAT!

Called at a farm shop for coffee and cake £17.30 for 2 coffee and cake WHAT! Got some shopping at Oswestry and arrived 1330 in Chirck and the auto checking worked this time WHAT!

Washing and a small walk in the evening.

Caught the bus in to town twice first for a coffee  then the second to see what was going on at the Pride parade
