23 -25 August 2023 Old Hartley
Second stay here this year met up with friends. A good Cycle to Tynmouth for coffee. Then a cycle to Whitley Bay after lunch and fish and chips in the evening.
Cycle towards Blyth but got caught in the rain just outside our coffee stop so sheltered until it stops then a relaxing afternoon.
18 -22 August 2023 Berwick
Back for our second time this year managed to see the food festival this time but had to walk in as some of the roads we cycle on are closed. did manage a couple of cycles on the Spittal prom. A good stay.
Lots of dead birds again on the beach (Avian flue)
On spittal beach arrived just a high tide to see the river struggling to get out to sea.

coffee Bothey for cake and coffee then drove down to Dunbar on arrival had a walk down to Whitesands beach.

Cycle into Dunbar had a walkabout and coffee noticed a lovely property with its own roof garden.

Before leaving for Edinburgh we had a walk into the university grounds

Up into Town early it was manic coffee and got the hell out we have been to the fringe a few times.
12 August 2023 Sterling
A wet day again so to the coffee bothey for CAKE their was a summer fair on at 1000 so a good walk about. After lunch a walk down to the Kirk (church for a look around).
An interesting day on site with our foreign friends? today a German came and parked on our pitch to go to the toilet due to rain! and while emptying our chemical toilet a Frenchman had emptied the contents of his cream cheese container in the toilet and even didn’t flush and returned after i had finished to empty a bag of sugar down it and telling him he could not do this he just carried on and did it ####

Arrive late afternoon had a walk up to the coffee bothy WOW i could not live near this coffee shop the cakes are so wonderful we would be 20 stone within a week.

Bus into Sterling £3.50 each to get to town £4.25 to get back ???? The UCI time trail racing was on so watched for a while then a good walkabout out for 3 1/2 hours FAB
9 August 2023 Tyndrum
Cycle to Corpach again then into Fort William lunch and showers shopping then drove down to TYndrum By The Way Campsite had a look round the green welly and had Fish Chips Mushy Pease and Tartare sauce. YUMMY.
6 August 2023 Fort William
Moving day walk about near the visitor centre (a proper coffee shop) before leaving and a great drive down lovely roads arriving at 1200 lunch shower then a cycle into Fort William coffee at costa what an experience they give us 1 shot takeaways instead of 2 shot half-filled the cups then asked us if it was Ok or show I fill them up ?????.

Cycle this morning to the locks over at Corpach then into fort William for coffee out for 2 ½ hours then a relaxing afternoon.
4 August 2023 Glencoe
Good journey down to Glencoe shopping stop a 2hour journey through some lovely country side. In the afternoon had a look round the Glencoe Visitor centre and The Turf house.
5 August 2023 Glencoe
Lovely sunny morning so up early while Glencoe road was not too busy cycled up part way then came back down the B road past the youth hostel in Glencoe village and down into Ballaculish to visit the quarry I dived in years ago and a coffee.
In the afternoon a wander around the Glencoe trails.

Walk into town early for coffee Costa did a bit better today. Back to the site for lunch.
In the afternoon we caught the Strathspey Steam Train up to Broomhill with afternoon tea first class. A good time.
