Left the site early for some shopping then a short drive up to Whitley Bay (Old Hartley) opening today after a long refit and allowing people to arrive after 1030 due to no one on site. WOW a first.
Work is still going on and I could not find the washing up! it is now in with the laundry room that will help with the clothes washing sink ? still awaiting signage.
Had a walk down to Seaton Sluice in the afternoon to see if the mermaid is still there.
6 July 2024 Old Hartley
Had an early morning cycle up to Tynemouth coffee (not costa) then into Whitley Bay one youth on the floor been held by a security guy. Every time I come here I see this.
Park run on the seafront and a new cycle way up at Tynemouth.
Scaffolding is been put up on the lighthouse ready to repaint it.
Cycle into Stockton again this morning down a few more streets. Spoke to a couple about the picture below they where married there 52 years ago and now in ruins due to some druggies setting it on fire.
Out with the old and in with the new! the second picture is development ongoing in the town.
Drove up to Durham arriving after some shopping so a washing day.
Cycle into town this morning early interesting as have not been to this site before. Talking to one of the locals its just like most places a lot NAFF. A women on drugs came into a shop I was in closely followed by an eagle eyed security man.
Managed to find some graffiti in the back streets and some lovely building , love the little market hall.
Spotted a small train off the tracks probably on its way to Grassingtown in Yorkshire.
Also cycled down to see the famous Bridge
Glad these dogs are not on site they are made of metal!

Walk into town got in early The swing bridge got stuck in the open position from 0845 until about 1445 ouch! some of the boats were ferrying people across for a £1.

In the afternoon walked down to The Pavilion to look at an Art Fair then walked back. Rain this afternoon Ugh.
In to Scarborough by bus twice today for walks along the seafront towards the castle past one of the loveliest hotels in the country. There are more seagulls stopping there than humans ?
Out on to the harbor for a picture looking towards Olivers Mount. Spotted Dr who on the way.
Back into town making my way up to the market passing a fish and chip shop that set on fire yesterday.
Stopped to look at this lovely statue of a Smuggler with Apprentice.
Had a walk around the market and the shops below it.
Oh! and to finish the day noticed A government political Pole with one of their new promises.
Cycle into town twice today south beach and searching for the local Tesco Express.
Electric trains on the beach front now shocking.
Spotted this cool guy at The Haunted House.

Cycle into town again early to avoid ? back to the site for a rest then cycled up to RSPB at Bempton then came back via Flambrough and spotted some more potty’s.
Had a lovely cake with coffee and luckily I was born with a gold fork in my mouth. He He.
Could you fall Hook Line and Sinker for a guy like this.
Cycled back into town again for some cold pasta to hot for cottage pie tonight. That makes it 3 cycles today WOW what a fit dude eh!
