Moving day today back at Sterling only 2 days campsite busy as Highland games on in town soon.

11 August 2026 Edinburgh

Up into Edinburgh this morning by bus again starting to get very busy the above is temp. anti terror traps for vehicals.
Hot today even the statues are heading for shade.
In the afternoon another cycle up on to the Forth road bridge above Queensferry wish I had been here a bit earlier.
The 2026 South Queensferry Burryman procession took place on Friday, August 7, 2026. The date was brought forward by a week to coincide with the local Ferry Fair week and school holidays

9-August 2026 Edinburgh
One of those driving days when it took longer 1 mile in about 10 mins. Raining on arrival but managed a short cycle for my tea. During the Fringe there is a pop up campsite. near us.
You can see from below how missing cake for a day affects me.
But a friend sent me lots on an email.
10 August 2026 Edinburgh
Bus into town to see some of the street acts on the royal mile and about town FAB during the Fringe.
This guy is here every year and is possibly one of the worst artists I have seen BUT he must make money ! to return.
Have not seen this tourist attraction for a while must be because we have just had some rain.
Edinburgh Tattoo on at the moment as well as the Fringe.
There are 1800 shows on something for everyone.
In the afternoon a cycle down to Leith around the back streets pictures up tomorrow that’s enough for today.
An evening cycle down to Cramond love been under the aircraft coming in to land.
7 August 2026 Berwick
Now they have cured the doggy bags in the toilet bin by removing it the new problem arises people are now putting the rubbish in this bin and PHS may not take it away now as it has bottles and plastic in ?
Wardens advising lock up your bikes I think 2 electric and 1 other stolen.
had a couple of cycles around Berwick and the seafront.
8 August 2026 Berwick
The information room below spotted a suspicious character outside after a bit of staring and getting the mobile phone out he left the site.
A walk up to M&S for some shopping then a cycle before lunch spotted these on the harbor.
Another cycle after lunch and watched some football outside the campsite.
This drinking fountain from 1887 does not look happy.
6 August 2026 Berwick
On arrival to the campsite I noticed on the waste bin in the toilets a sign that said would people please stop putting dog waste in this bin please, I have noticed it has now stopped because they have taken the waste bin out of the toilet? so I think it means we now have to put our toilet waste in the Dog bins. ????
Cycle this morning for coffee and pick up some lunch the picture on this bus is FAB think I have seen it before.
Have cycled across this bridge many times and used to joke I new what the initials stood for finally got it

Good drive up a few hold ups on the A1 as usual love this sign at the side of the road makes me smile.
Called in for some shopping before arriving at 1305 got a pitch where everyone takes a short cut across 10 this afternoon and I have now stopped counting.
Cycle along the seafront in the evening very windy.

Walk into town this morning to get some printing done and a coffee.
Sat on a Chat table in Costa there every Wednesday and had a good chat with 2 ladies learnt some interesting things about Berwick from locals.
Walkabout back to the site and did some more work on a drawing I have to finish for Scone campsite DONE a cycle back into town for printing.
The buddleja trees are very popular with the butterflies at this time of the year.
The building has doubled in size since I was last here.
A lovely day with high winds but still warm.

A short cycle into Blyth this morning tried a different route today

An other lovely day with rain promised bus into town for coffee then a cycle up to Tynemouth
I put this book shop up on my last visit showing the types of books and the yarn bombing so this time the lovely decorated name with people.
Not much graffiti here.

Last time here checked to see if anybody in the old swimming pool NO this time in the paddling pool NO
Stopped thinking the ship in the middle of the flowers was The Mayflower ! then realised NO its August ???

Just a short drive but again roadworks extended the journey if anybody knows a road without roadworks on it you are a lucky person.
On arrival a drive down to Blyth for a coffee then another cycle up to Whitley Bay.
The flower below did grow up to be a bit like mum and had a lovely addition in the middle.

Last time I was here there was a problem in the docks and this is the result.
No going across to the island today.
On this campsite there is a rule NO WIND BREAKS?
When I pictured this before I had not seen that the eyes were Peter Rabbit 50p pieces.

While waiting for the bus back from town saw this doggy does not look good?
30 July 2026 Durham
Coffee with friends before leaving for Durham it took me 45 minuets to travel the 6 mile to the A1 wow. The rest of the drive was OK. On arrival they allowed me to park in reception to stay cool how nice you can just see me through the window.
This arrived on site its a while since I have seen one of these.
Then this arrived When parking please park between the white pegs OR PARK BETWEEN THE PITCHES ? nooooo!

Cycle this morning with friends up to Ripley Castle again for coffee up the Green way opps! I mean the brown way.
