15 July 2026 Seahouses

Cycle about in Berwick before leaving for Seahouses noticed a new statue has appeared this morning the original of this guy was vandalised in 1955 and the town council has decided to make a new one.

I have been waiting a few years to see what was happening here and had a look at where the seafront of your new house would be not impressed.

Very busy in Seahouses lots of buses for people going to the Farne Islands.

Not seen one of these in a caravan before!

Nice to sea the Yarn bombing again.

This campsite is a good place to enjoy Seahouses but with only 2 showers/toilets and £60 a night for 22 pitches not ideal.

Had a couple of walk abouts in town and down to the harbour.

 

14 July 2026 Berwick

Shopping this morning TESCO  two sets of traffic light one not working? got there no salads fridge broke O goody  another 3 mile cycle up to Morrisons had a coffee then cycled along to the coast watch.

Strange circles on the shore line below here very interesting asked a local didn’t know so checked it out.

Ladies Skerrs is a dome of sandstones, mudstones and limestones. Limestones and sandstones are more resistant to erosion by the sea than mudstones so they stand proud on the rocky foreshore. You can see the direction in which the beds of rock slope away from the centre of the dome (arrows on Photo A). The rocks were deposited on a horizontal sea bed during the Carboniferous period about 330 million years ago and were domed during plate tectonic activity 30 million years later.

Funny hour at 1 o ‘clock yesterday one person just drove past the bollards they did make he wait while they booked in the 2 behind him.

The Granary (which is situated on Dewar’s Lane) has recently^[ been strapped (as it has a tilt greater than the Leaning Tower Of Pisa) and transformed into a Youth Hostel, Bistro, Major Art Gallery and Public Meeting Rooms. The restored building is not only accessible from street level but also has access from both Berwick’s Elizabethan Walls and Historic Quayside. This £5ml renovation will now remove what was considered to be the largest eyesore in the town

The waves on the sea front are a bit green due to seaweed.

While looking at the reviews a while back I noticed one that said their was pot holes on the entry road to the site at Berwick so I thought I would show him how they got there

12 July 2026 Berwick

Had a cycle down to the seafront for coffee before leaving. Noticed a new type of pitch on the site Hard standing with awning and tent for the 3rd person in the van. WOW

Drive down with shopping and fuel 2 hours good pitch again.

13 July 2026 Berwick

Cycle into town for some printing in the afternoon then along the Spittle.

Next morning a cycle into town noticed a ship in going to be a dusty few days as it is here to collect grain.

Had another cycle this afternoon this statue if it doesn’t like the book is close to a bin.

The Costa coffee in town is disgusting my jumper stuck to the dirty table bin full from yesterday .Ugh! going for another cycle down the Spittle again just to keep cool.

11 July 2026 Edinburgh

Bus into town 15 mins walk  to bus stop and 30 mins bus ride.

Opps!

There is a lot of building work going on at the back of the site I remember when a sign was put up for the building of below 3000 flats?

On been given my coffee this morning I just realised how miserable I must look?

Last time I was here lots of the site wardens were taking branches from the tree below over the road from the site and throwing it over in to the campsite ANY IDEAS WHY ?

10 July 2026 Edinburgh

Cycle into Perth first thing the long route. Lovely Statue NO CONE!

Lots of roadworks on the M90 making the journey a bit longer. On arrival self check in not working properly AGAIN says owe money then displays the number plate 1111 not recognised UGH?

Had a cycle up to Edinburgh cycle path up from Leith back via the Roseburn Path. Stopped to look at the Building that was on fire a couple of days ago road still closed. Town very busy so back to the site for shower then some shopping a busy day.

Eat Cake good idea had a second coffee today with brownie at Starbucks.

Second time this has happened ###

O good day managed to park under a tree shielding me from afternoon sun.

9 July 2026 Perth

WOW the heat has arrived in Scotland gets very hot in the motorhome.

Had a late cycle again last night into town some great graffiti under a bridge.

Cycle into town this morning the long route by the river

Some lovely houses on the way in.

If you don’t want to wash your window have it painted on the wall.

Another cycle in the afternoon to Perth via Scone village this time and back the long route a police incident main street partly cordoned off due to a stabbing last night.

Nice body below but not very talkative.

Another late cycle tonight down to Scone Palace.

7-8 July 2026 Perth

Had a cycle down into  Broughty before leaving for Perth

Have stopped for a coffee before here lovely place on the sea front.

People don’t do this do they ###

On arrival at Perth see the cone tradition still going on.

Love the Thistles when they are just appearing.

Upper and lower Perth (Ha Ha)

Into town for a coffee just as I say cheaper in Scotland WOW coffee and cake in Starbucks £8.60 Ouch

A bear trail on gives me time to cycle around looking for them.

Cycle into town 4 miles but took the long route back alongside the river 6 1/2 miles lovely and back over Destiny Bridge.

6 July 2026 Dundee

Had some trouble parking my bike at the supermarket already taken.

These have been here a few years I think they my be maintenance issues.

Wind very strong today so a cycle down to  Broughty for a coffee Costa in Scotland cheaper than England ????

Stopped to watch the dolphins.

No more today to windy so did some shopping ready for moving tomorrow.

5 July 2026 Dundee

Great cycle way all the way into Dundee past the docks.

The next 2 statues tend to eat cones if placed on them

Stopped for a Costa in the middle of town changed a lot in a year lots of shops shut.

On my cycle down to the V&A and docks.

Broughty on the way back from Dundee.

After lunch had a cycle up to Carnoustie and into the town.

Windy coming back  but this flower managed to keep its hair lovely.

4 July 2026 Dundee

Coffee before leaving for Dundee a good drive road works on M90 making it a 90 mins drive. Funfair outside the site so free music.

A rather large camping car at the fair.

Very windy but did manage to cycle down to Broughty Ferry.

Love the flowers painted on this cafe

and some lovely flowers on the campsite.

This campsite is not as good as the last one facilities are a bit dated and adult only at £42 a night a bit expensive. Looks like bad weather tomorrow so fingers crossed I can get out to Dundee
