21 December 2024 Zaragoza

MAX temp today 17 degrees.

Early start C Club open at 0545 for breakfast got message to go to van at 0800 left ship 0905 for the drive down to Zaragoza this is a wonderful journey at times you could see 50 miles ahead. Driving on the Toll roads is just so stress free after England’s roads. 4 ½ hour trip (Dire Straits music all the way FAB) just one stop for a coffee got to the campsite at 1330 ish. Booked in and off to Mercadona for some shopping 3 trips to get stocked up on milk its only a 20 mins walk. Had a chat with a few motor homer’s. Maybe an early night as I have another 4 hour drive tomorrow to Barcelona area. (ELO music tomorrow).

QUE TIEMPO HACE HOY

Hace sol – Hace – calor 17 degrees

A good journey down again I love these roads you can travel great distances without seeing any town only grape vines and olive trees although I did spot a dead wild boar at the side of the road. Yesterday’s travel cost me 73 Euros in fuel. Topped up before leaving Zaragoza. Stopped a couple of times for a leg  stretch and 1 coffee. Got a good pitch and saw a couple of people that we knew from past visits. Music today great for driving on a motorway (Blondie ONE WAY OR ANOTHER good eh)?

Greenwich Meridian in Zaragoza

After its journey through the province of Huesca, the Greenwich meridian continues its course into the province of Zaragoza. In this section, it crosses the region of Los Monegros, a region characterized by its semi-arid landscape and its unique steppe ecosystem.

A point of special interest on the route through the province of Zaragoza is the intersection with the AP-2 motorway. At this point, between the towns of Bujaraloz and Candasnos, a commemorative monument in the form of an illuminated arch stands over the road. This structure marks the passage of the Greenwich meridian through the province of Zaragoza, representing a point of convergence between an abstract geographical concept and a tangible physical reality.

It is worth mentioning that this intersection point is traveled daily by numerous vehicles, most of whose occupants are probably unaware of the geographical significance of the place they are passing through: an imaginary line that divides the planet into the eastern and western hemispheres.

Into town again twice today for walkabouts and coffee.

13 December 2024 Cirencester

Drove down to Cirencester after another morning in Cheltenham. good drive down stopping for shopping at Tesco. i really don’t know why I keep coming here the men wardens are so ? and the dryer has still not been repaired since I was hear early September the site maintenance is terrible van carpet gets so mucky here. Shower water is so greasy. And the club will not send an email asking for a review possibly as they do with most sites. 87 campsites this year so far and this is the worst yet.

Lovely to see the caravans lighting up again for Christmas.
