Metley Marsh steam fair
24 – 27 July 2016 Green Pastures Southampton (the New Forest)
What a busy road down to here traffic jams all over for no reason just bad road management on roundabouts. (Hell at this time of the year). Called in at Southdown motorhomes to buy some more new cleaning products and saw a barbie and paella pan we wanted so bought it. Arrived pitched up got the bikes out and cycled to the farm shop for some burgers to try our new Barbie out. Works great not that we are burger people but will be handy for fish and stir fries etc. Cycled down to check out a steam fair to come and see in the morning.
Metley Marsh steam fair
Cycle this morning down to Metley Marsh Steam festival.
Metley Marsh steam fair
Great morning out nice to see all the attractions so much to see old cars, motor bikes, steam trucks, tractors, craft stalls, bric o brac, food and more.
Patsy and Paul arrived from Spain spent some good quality time with them went for a run then out for a meal good food and company.
We have decided if we can find a new site to move the reason is if I was to write a campsite report for this site ….
The site has very little rules partying goes on until 0030 children play close to motorhomes with balls Frisbees. The toilets 2 of them and 2 showers with a further portable shower block outside are dirty the worst ever. We have had enough and are booking out and moving on to Poole in Dorset.
Arrived at Aachen campsite 1235 reception had just closed so a 3 hour wait for it to re-open so we decided to move on to Brussels again for 2 days. Just outside this campsite is a massive swimming pool that made getting into the campsite a bit difficult as it was a mad hot day and busy. Great on the campsite as usual. A long walk for some bread about 40 mins there 40 mins back. Next day was a national holiday in Brussels so a Sunday bus service this meant a 40 mins walk to the bus stop. Quite in town first thing then got busier.

The Manikin Pi was dressed up for holiday as a guard this is one of the most over rated over photographed tourist things I have seen.

Arrived 1200 just as the people on our pitch were leaving so they let us on to the site. Outside the site is a very large IKEA store so we walked round the store and had lunch what an experience so big 1 Hr. to walk round the store. Did some forward booking of sites for our journey back to the UK.
18 Jul. 16 Camping Lugwigsee Osnabruk
Long drive today a 2.15.Hr turned into a 3.10 due to road works and a crash but Hay Hoe its we do. Our second problem was following a live pig transport wagon through lengthy road works and these vehicles have fans to get rid of the smell how pongy Ugh. Got to the campsite booked in and washed a couple of jumper’s lovely sunny 30 C to hot really.
A caravan pitch.
The facilities here are a bit short two toilets and wash basins men’s showers no hot water. There has been a sewage blockage as they were clearing it when we arrived but you kept getting a blast of the stench. You can see why the place has lots of empty pitches at this time of the year. OK for a one night stop that’s all you need Osnabrook is a small place and we have been here once this year.
Off to Lidle for some shopping and a bit of sun bathing in the shade we have a long drive again to Aachen in the morning.
Drove down this morning our second bridge Storebaelt 18km FAB we are so lucky. Arrived booked in no problem. Stopped at Odense campsite 1125 unfortunately for us and them they would not book us in until 1400 a first on the trip the guy on reception looked like he was having a bad day SO we ended up here fortunately.
Koldinghus
A 2km walk into town to see the Koldinghus and its Faberge collection and the rest of the castle a lovely surprise thank you DCU camp Odense.
40 mins drive over the bridge and through the tunnel and fab bridge.

Arrived early 1030 no pitches with electricity left so parked up with no electricity 315SK a bit expensive. Vehicles parked on top of one another well! Close. The Belgium’s one side and some Australians the other both decided as we did that it was not worth stopping more than a day, facilities terrible and for the first time on the trip obnoxious kids. Metro to the ferry terminal to book a ship to Finland nothing available to Turku Helsinki or Estonia until 18 July, so we cannot wait that long also we feel that we would now also have trouble both getting our Russian cruise and getting back out of Finland so with great regret we have decided to turn and head for home.
We then had a walkabout and lunch in Stockholm we have found a coffee shop chain called expresso coffee great food and coffee. Back on to the Metro and up to the sky view globe at Globen. This complex is where they held the 2016 Eurovision contest.
Great drive again arrived 1030 checked in WOW these sites get better every day. Walked 2Km into Orebro had lunch and a coffee and managed to get ourselves some new lightweight summer down jackets (pink and blue). Lovely place the 6th largest town in Sweden.

Good drive up this morning the roads are small but the Swedes drive slow. Beach site on Lake. These campsites in Northern Europe are the best up to now.
Camping-Bomstadbaden Kalstad Sweden
Bus to town you have to pay by Visa on the bus as the company Engangskort has had more than enough robberies and decided the drivers would not handle cash from June this year.
Kalstad
