Have time to right a big blog today as Rain Rain Rain. Caught the bus into Edinburgh this morning cheaper than England £2.20 per trip. Still very busy in town and difficult getting around with an Umbrella. Had a coffee and look around found a new place then back to the site Please stop raining. XX

This site in Edinburgh is a place to come if you have a need to see all the weird things campers do in a short time. Auto Book in strange un readable message came up on entry booked onto pitch with text then a warden appeared 10 mins. Later and told me someone was already on this pitch ugh NO I am on it. ?

Yes the below is a friend XX

01

It is full of new campers in hired vans I am surrounded by Indi campers, Roadsurfer,  Bunk campers, McRent and Just Go campervans and lots of foreigner’s visiting the lovely city of Edinburgh. This campsite is one of the only Caravan club to not display toilet cleaning times and only has 8 showers for 142 pitches Ugh! Last time I was here someone had a Poo outside the toilet door (must have forgot the entry code) ? The site is also covered into cameras as crime on the site is ripe bike lockers provided to help stop bike theft and last year saw the wardens chase and catch a suspected thief on site. Great stop have booked the site again this year but after writing this may have second thoughts ####

Still love the life I live

26 June 2025 Berwick

Walk into town first thing then cycle about looking for new things that I have not seen before.

The former Good Templar Hall in Berwick-upon-Tweed is located on Coxon’s Lane. It was built in 1874 as a temperance hall for the Independent Order of Good Templars. Today, only the front elevation of the building remains. The site of the hall is now a car park

Urban Sanitary Authority Building, Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland DSC_4788

In 1835, Berwick was told that its prison in the Town Hall was unsuitable and needed to be replaced. It took sometime to find a site, agree on plans and raise the money to do this. However, this project finally came to fruition with the opening of this building in Wallace Green in 1849 as a Prison. It’s history as a prison was relatively short lived as it closed in 1878. However, having cost so much to build, a new use had to be found for it. Initially it was used as a Court house and by Berwick’s Police Force, but then in the early 1890s it was purchased by Berwick’s

Urban Sanitary Authority, it was converted to office

accommodation and stables were built on the back of the site. A plaque above the main door commemorates the completion of this work in 1892. From then until 2009, the building was used a Council administrative buildings, being eventually sold after 2015 to a local developer, who has converted it to four properties, retaining many of its original features, including some of the prison cells on the top floor.
