11 May 2026 Old Hartley

Still having mixed weather very windy overnight as you can see in the below picture angry sea. Had a walk along the cliffs again down to Seaton sluice some lovely pictures in the shelters and pub garden.

Bus into town to look at the shops and coffee n cake.

10 May 2026 Old Hartley

Cycle this morning for a coffee before leaving for Whitley Bay spotted this on the side of store

Good drive down 1 1/2 hr A1 all the way.

Back at Old Hartley had a walk along the cliffs in the evening after doing some washing.

Spotted this above the steps to the beach.

8 May 2026 Berwick

Good drive down  although wet weather on arrival just managed a short cycle between showers to get some printing done.

Still raining on my second day so the only picture is self drawn (sorry) I did manage to get to M&S coffee cafe on the retail park above the campsite. Although 2 of the cake covers had fly’s in them to be fair! they did remove them when I told them.

7 May 2026 Edinburgh

Up into Edinburgh again this morning

Thought I would have a statue day,

Not as big as the one yesterday?

I have seen this guy having lunch in lots of places on my travels. (above)

After lunch a cycle down to Leith home to the royal yacht.

Then to the graffiti wall to see if anything new from last year.

It was interesting stopping to photo this have not noticed it before so looked up the history behind Newhaven fishermen’s wife’s

Stopped for some shopping then cycled up to Cramond Island.

Lots of aeroplanes about fuel shortage? they only stopped for 2 hr yesterday in 24 hours.

This hot weather is bring the bugs out.

6 May 2026 Edinburgh

Bus into Edinburgh this morning and a walkabout on the famous streets very busy and had a look at the new Costa Coffee shop just opened.

A first a Costa with a moving staircase

 

If you can’t manage the stairs use the lift.

In the afternoon a cycle on the seafront along Silverknowles.

5 May 2026 Edinburgh

A cycle into Dunbar again this morning no coffee n cake as Trip Advisor does not give good ratings in this town and yesterdays was not so good and one we found years ago was shut until Wednesday.

Drive up to Edinburgh no problems just the usual road works and lots of blue lights flying about. A cycle up to Starbucks a lovely coffee for a change back down to the seafront and along to see Cramond Isle and the lovely Gas thingy. Passing the lovely Cramond Station now an art centre.

The electric posts on this site now have meters on them? it won’t be long before we will all have to pay for our electric. ###

 

4 May 2026 Dunbar

Cycle into town for coffee Boo Hoo no cake. Different route up passed Asda love the well kept church.

Stopped for coffee across from The John Muir Museum

Inside the coffee shop.

then cycled along the cliff top for the views towards North Berwick.

Then down to the harbor battelments.

No war on but still some dangerous looking guys guarding the lobster pots.

Thought I would have another look at the snails nest?

Spotted someone’s cleaner enjoying the sun.

It seems to be yellow season up here on my way down to Barn’s Ness lighthouse this evening.

3 May 2026 Dunbar

Moving day but not a good start as heavy rain so a shopping stop and a steady drive up to Dunbar. On arrival out with the bike to look for changes since last here.

This wall above the harbour is still FAB.

While taking a picture of the war monument I noticed on the top of the sign a snail with its baby in front of it.

 

2 May 2026 Berwick

Last night a lovely evening so a cycle along the cliff tops great views towards Holy Island but tide not good for a cycle all the way, some lovely flowers on route BUT if yellow is not your favorite colour don’t cycle this route.

A cycle round town and the area this is an amazing small Air B&B

Arrived at the Barracks to see the Bounds just setting of to the Town hall before doing The Boundary ride

Another cycle in the afternoon playing “dodge the horse poo”

Lovely building considering it was built at the start of world war 1

Walk across the bridge again at low tide this morning.

First time I have seen the yellow paint on the steps!

Lovely new sign at the area where the campsite is.

What wonderful things happen on campsite just missed the chance to photo a women allowing her dog to pee on this sign FAB EH!!!!

I love this little village half way up the wall of a house.
