After a bad morning of rain, confining us to the van, the weather cleared and we were fortunate enough to arrive in town to watch the time trial on the 3rd stage of the Poble nou de Benitatxell, Calpe.
Benidorm
Spent the last few days with our friends drinking all the coffee in Calpe. They have now departed for pastures new. Done lots of cycling and walking although the weather has dropped quite cold. Had quite a bit of rain and had to wear hat and gloves and still not out of trousers. It has never been so cold. Been down to Benidorm again and treated ourselves to a Costa coffee which was very good. Called into the old town to photograph a hotel for a friend which she said had featured in the television series Four in a Bed.
Patsy and Paul came up to Calpe and we had lunch with them in restaurant Romantica on the sea front always a good meal. Coffee in our usual high rise coffee stop (The Sky Lounge) with a great view of the campsite and a lovely high diving board!
Drove down this morning lovely day had a walkabout coffee with friends then a bit of shopping to top up. last year they were building this hotel now its finished.
Had a couple of good days in Valencia first day bus into town for a look around, festival day so a parade on and took a good photo of two horses with their own personal poopa scooper behind just waiting.

Day 2 a good cycle up into Valencia coffee then back for lunch then had a cycle down into El Saler.
Our stay here is drawing to a close and we move on once again it has been a lot different this time with being here later and much more for us to see. We managed a good run on the beach in 20 C temp. Last night at 1700 it was 12 C and by 2000 it was 18 C, so a warm night.
A good cycle up to Oropesa this morning followed by an afternoon walking around the Paella festival in Benicassim definitely one of the great festivals in Spain
Still running and cycling all over the place with a cycle down to Castellon again. The middle of January is the start of the San Antonia Festival with last night the 16th being bonfires day. The whole of the main street and many of the side streets full of fires for their barbecues. We could hear people until the early hours of the morning.

8.00 am today we were woken to 20 minutes of extremely loud firecrackers. After a bit of sun bathing we went into the town to watch the religious procession.
