Weather been extremely hot and spent a lot of time in the shade. Brighton is very busy at this time of year especially with loads of foreign school children. Campsite very busy also, we are now back into part-time campers. Lots of VW campers (live the life types) on the site. One motorhome put a tent up next to his van, moved in a single bed and a bedside cabinet!!!!

Cool

Managed a few cycles and a trip up to Eastbourne where we experienced our first rain for many weeks.

Airstream2

Just arrived on site the new Chemical toilet cleaner £2 and after lunch two new Air-streams arrived a new addition for customers to hire. (Allegedly they are owned by a company who manage the bookings and cleaning separate to the Caravan and Motorhome Club and lease the two Spaces from the club ? if true Wow not good).

These caravans cost a lot of money but the finnish on the body work is terrible pinched riveting! there is a real Air-stream on site and the thickness of the aluminium and finish is good comes from the days when things mattered and value for money meant something.

Last day in Luxembourg so nothing much planned but we did want to go into Grund and come back up from the valley bottom in the glass lift.

While in the valley came across a small maze and found the middle. Back up into the town for coffee and a wander about.

This campsite is very cheap at €16 + we are on an electric metre at 0.50 per kilowatt. The pitch sizes are very large. We paced it out at 13.5 metres.

Good to be moving in the morning its very expensive in town and we are running out of money as can be seen from the image below ! one coffee 2 straws ! poor us.(sob sob).

Casements

Bus into the city again this time to visit the Bock Casements (underground defence and air raid shelters). Really interesting but lots of steps. Had lunch and coffee then on to the City Sky Liner.

Not as big as the i360 in Brighton but this is a portable tower and is only there for the summer.

Today we decided to look at a few museums. First was the Fort Thungen which houses a history museum. We found it very interesting.

6

On leaving we found a few areas to add to our ‘get you lost tours itinerary’ but eventually managed to find our way out! After lunch we visited the City Museum which gave a very good insight to the full history of Luxembourg. Whilst in there we took an enormous lift in the museum to reach the basement where the visit started.

Before we left the city we went to look at the lift which takes you to Grund which is the old part of the town in the valley, where upon we encountered yet another glass floor which we stood on apprehensively.

Last day on the Mosel so a cycle up river to Ellenz for coffee and apple Strudel with ice cream.  On the way we came across a bike shop and decided to try and get some new German style handle bars for easier riding, but we ended up getting a Bicycle Stem Raiser Extender Head Up Handlebar Raiser it raised the handle bars by 3 inches giving us a straighter back for riding, works great.

On the cycle we noticed these small units for transporting the grapes off the steep slopes of the valley.
